Lucien BACHARACH, Pascal LARZABAL, Isabelle VIN, Jianhua WANG, Gilles CHARDON, Julien GIRARD
From July 2024 (48 months)
Objectives:
- Derive natural and meaningful estimation accuracy measures for the imaging task in radio astronomy.
- Propose useful optimization criteria and algorithms for the array configuration of radio interferometers, based on the aforementioned imaging accuracy measures.
- Apply the proposed tools to practical radio interferometer use cases: optimization of a whole radio interferometer array configuration, but also design of observations and optimal observation resource allocation (e.g. optimal sub-arraying) on existing facilities.
